The CNDR is a national research project based at the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine.
The Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Registry aims to improve the future for individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disease by enabling research and accessibility to clinical trials, and improving clinical care.
By creating the Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Registry (CNDR) we hope to produce the following outcomes:
- Structure and networking for healthcare professionals within the neuromuscular disease community in Canada including facilitation of communication within the community and improved consistency of care.
- A Canadian research framework allowing accelerated translation of laboratory findings into clinical research studies.
- Improved patient quality of life as a result of increased research into causes and management of neuromuscular diseases.
- Enhanced Canadian regional neuromuscular clinic research capability and accelerated development of therapeutics for neuromuscular disease.
- Effective distribution of healthcare funding towards neuromuscular disease research to areas of maximum potential benefit.
- Broad standardization of clinical management of patients suffering from neuromuscular diseases.
